News Update

Well, things are moving quite well at the Sanctuary, the car park is well on the way to being completed, the kennels have been ordered and paid for and should be up and occupied within two months. It is just the time and never ending effort involved in achieving this.  The area had to be cleared and levelled, easy if you say it quick, but it has meant hours of back breaking work for Rob, my son, his pal Dave and myself and a couple of very willing volunteers, to get this done. This is as well as running the Sanctuary, helping in the charity shop in Mold, running books sales, doing ' talks ' in the evenings, and keeping up with the dreaded paperwork!

In one day I had calls to take in 23 dogs from people who either couldn't cope, were now working full time, were moving, or just didn't want them anymore. I am taking in as many as I can as quickly as I can, but it all depends on how quickly I can find homes for the dogs already in the Sanctuary, after they have been neutered, inoculated, chipped, wormed and flea treated. We are working flat out, doing home checks for the dogs, trips to and from the vets with them, but at least we don't destroy them, we keep out dogs until we find the right home for them. Sometimes, it take a little longer but this is because the new owner doesn't know that they need a dog yet, and that she is waiting at Capricorn.

Recently we have had the usual dogs, cats rabbits and guinea pigs come in to us but we have also had a chinchilla from the Midlands, a seagull from South Wales, a cockeral that was wandering round a town centre, and a terrapin that was found wandering a busy, main road.
