Abandoned Dog
This Husky cross bitch was found first thing this morning by one of our volunteers, tied to the outside car park gate. She had partially chewed through her lead in her distress and anxiety to find her owner. If she had succeeded and ran out on to the main Chester to Corwen road, she could have been killed or caused an accident where people could have been injured or killed.
This was a cruel and callous act. Some might say at least she was left at the Sanctuary, but it doesn't matter where an animal is abandoned, it is still abandoned. Still tied up and left, still terrified of what is happening to her, abandoned and betrayed by her owner, whom she loved and trusted.
She is a lovely middle aged dog, trusting and friendly, good temperament, but we know nothing about her, we don't know her age, her name, if she is inoculated, spayed, we do know that she is not chipped.
Unfortunately, abandonment of pets is becoming more and more common and it is the rescues and Sanctuaries who have to deal with the responsibility of housing, feeding and veterinary bills for an ever increasing number of animals coming into the Sanctuaries.
