Bonny
Bonny is a Bulldog cross bitch, she was found late one night staggering and weaving along a main road. She was full of milk, her bags practically touching the floor, they were sore and inflamed. She was brought in to us at Capricorn at 11.15 p.m.
Her fur was yellowed with ammonia, (urine) she was dirty but most of all she was absolutely terrified -- terrified of hands that came near her, terrified of the lead, terrified of the mop and brush we used to clean her kennel. Gradually, we won her confidence, she still goes flat on the floor and wets herself if we move too quickly near her but she is getting better and learning to trust.
She is on medication for help her milk dry up, special medicated shampoo to help her skin and fur recover.
We quite often get bitches in like this and find that the person that has used and abused and then dumped them, after they breed for greed, they keep the puppies and dump the bitch. Sometimes the puppies are as young as four or five weeks when their mother is taken from them. This is heartless and cruel both to the bitch and the puppies.
