Les

  • Les is a Staffie puppy.
  • Now about 14 weeks old.
  • Inoculated.
  • Wormed.
  • Flea treated.
  • Identi chipped.
  • Insured.
  • This pup is lucky to be alive.  He was brought in to Capricorn after 10pm, having been picked up in the road.  The lady who found him thought he had been hit by a car, as his face was swollen and paralysed.  We rushed him into the vet who put him on a drip.  The next day blood tests were done as it was obvious he had not been hit by a car.  It was discovered that his liver was sending a "shunt" of ammonia to the brain and this was causing the paralysis.  This also gave him perception and motor problems and would have killed him if left untreated.
  • Needless to say we gave him his chance and told the vet to go ahead and operate.  A tiny clamp was inserted which stopped the liver "shunting" ammonia to the brain.  This was a success and he was on medication for three weeks, he was too weak to even treat him for worms.
  • After four weeks he is now fit and well and looking forward to living a long and normal life.
  • He is full of fun, loves acting like a puppy, and is now ready for a home and family of his own.

Please note:
